  Really can't see the point in this one. He must be a wealthy individual, not only that he has built a decent name for himself in the promotions game!
  
  Even with the defeats on his record he is seen as a bit of a legend in the sport (certenly in this country).
  
  Over the years he got worse cant see how he will ever challenge after all this time

  I agree with the above, I think he has been out for a bit too long, I do think his retirement was a little premature but he should stay retired. I can't see him making any worth while challenge for the title any more.
  
  He was and is a great boxer etc but he has had his time, and should try and help young hopefuls with their careers personally.
  
  I wish him all the best in his fights though.

  not an easy one for ricky, to be fair to him he is fighting an ex world champion that has only lost one fight. OK that was to paulie mallanagie (not spelt that right!!).
  
  whilst i think ricky hatton will win this fight i cant see how he will make it back to the top of the game, especially with mayweather and paciao still around.
  
  i can only see one result in the long run....

  Ricky's a well loved character and gives fans value for money and excitement. Ricky is definitely one of the best British Boxers Britain has had. Ricky's a British great who ranks alongside greats such as Nigel Benn, Joe Calzaghe, Prince Naseem and Lennox Lewis. He can look back on his career after what happened in his comeback and say at least he fought the very best in the world and ducked nobody. I just wish Ricky Hatton the best of luck in his promotional career and that he makes a lot of money. Whatever happens, he'll make a really great promoter or commentator which is what boxing needs right now. Promoters who have been boxers, preferably former world champions because promoters in boxing who have been there and done it can truly make a big difference to the sport of boxing and help with getting boxing more acclaim over the world.

  uh Harddick, I think you'll find the fight was back end of last November, so don't really know why you made these comments? I doubt you can be a boxing fan otherwise you would have realised that.

  I am a boxing fan Russylover. Ricky took a terrible beating. He's lucky he didn't get more seriously hurt or even killed. I saw it. It was a body shot which put him down. He should never have comeback. It was a bad decision. He should have been advised not to comeback and stick promoting. Boxing's too dangerous as you and I know.

  well harddick, you just modified your original post at 4.55pm as it says above???
  Why you would do that who knows? other people saw what you originally wrote mate, so no point really. If you do make comments as you originally did, you will get these remarks as I did and da1 in the other thread.
  Write what you want, that is the point of the forum, but don't go hiding it up afterwards.

  Best wishes were definitely inappropriate after the event took place. A tribute to Ricky's bravery was more appropriate that's why I changed it after seeing the mistake I made, after you guys corrected me. Thanks for the correction. It keeps everybody in check here. Sometimes I make mistakes. It was wrong. I did see the fight though. I am serious about that. I didn't watch it live as it happened but I did see it. I watched it on youtube.
