This is film an audio visual masterpiece in terms of craftwomanship, from concept to completion. The excerpts from the concert are interspersed with segments that go behind the scenes of the execution of the tour, the balance of being a musician, businesswoman, mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece and friend - and the sounds, history, fashion, dances that inspired this behemoth of an album. Life is already hard for women, and it's even harder for a Black woman. Seeing her have to deal with her daughter being in the public eye, loosing a friend like Tina Turner, reconciling for the first time with four members of her group for the first time since they all spilt up and having Diana Ross sing Happy Birthday to her, all whilst being on tour was eye-opening. It also delved into the life of the man that inspired this album Uncle Johnny, the life he led and the safe space she has now created for men like him. She even wears the last dress he made for her, which was her prom dress. One of the biggest things that stood out from this documentary was the seamless camera transitions and editing, it was award worthy. Also the multiple iconic fashions outfits that she wore on the tour will go down in history, as well as everyone that attended, watched and listened, with the futuristic metallic theme that ran throughout the album, from the album cover, to the British Vogue photoshoot, to the club night listening parties, to the actual tour performances and now onto the cinema venues. There are very few people in life that are truly iconic. Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter IS AN ICON.
