Episode seven
Mia and Shawna release a new song called Nann Badder, and it's proving to be as popular as debut single Seduce and Scheme. This leads to Shawna's old producer Francois contacting her to meet for drinks. But things take a turn for the worse when he mentions his current artist Reina Reigns. Maurice's personal, un-professional and professional relationship with Shawna continues but it isn't as smooth as she'd like. Mia and Lamont work together for the sake of their daughter and their feelings for each other start to return. The girls prepare for an upcoming live show, and once at the event Chastity fumbles it slightly be being overfamiliar with a celebrity and also by trying to do her second job at the same event too. The performance doesn't go as smoothly as planned due to Shawna's ego taking over and Mia feeling underappreciated for her contributions.
Episode eight
Reina Reigns makes a public faux pas. Shawna tried to stay upbeat after the events of the live performance. Mia and Lamont's relationship continues to switch from on to off, after Mia bumps into Khalif from the live show and he takes her and her friends out for a meal. Chasity gets some advice and arranges a meeting with her Mia and Shawna about the future of their careers. Shawna's co-worker tells her that Maurice isn't as good as he appears, and he later resurfaces with the reasons as to why he's been absent. Shawna seeks help from Francois, which then leads to a big opportunity for the girls, but something Shawna has done might have thrown a spanner in the works.
In terms of it's writing directing and acting this was a really fun, creative and vibrant first season. Aida Osman and Kamillon are great as the leads, and they perfectly encapsulate characters that you want to hug and see succeed, but also scream and tell them not to keep messing up the big opportunities that they have. Hopefully they'll be a second season.
