Sylvester Stallone has just confirmed that he'll be returning to the big screen as John Rambo in the fifth film in the series.
71-year-old Sly Stallone teased a picture on his Instagram account with the caption: "Something wicked is coming this way!" which appears to show a release date of autumn next year. Obviously fans are going batshit over the news, but some people are wondering if he's just a bit old for all this now?!
The film is due to start shooting in September this year and the synopsis is sounding fucking epic. The official synopsis reads:
Quote:Rambo finds himself living on a ranch in Arizona, deeply troubled and wrestling with PTSD as he picks up casual work wherever he can.When long-time family friend and estate manager Maria informs Rambo that her granddaughter has gone missing after crossing into Mexico for a party, he sets off with her to find the youngster.What ensues is a violent descent into hell as Rambo uncovers a sex-trafficking ring.He teams up with a journalist whose half-sister has also been kidnapped and must deploy all his skills to save the girls and bring down a vicious crime lord.
It sounds like it's got a bit of a Taken vibe to it, which is good for me because I bloody loved Taken. Just the first one though, the others were pure dogshit. Roll on next Autumn! John Rambo is back motherfuckers! -

This could be interesting, the last one was great once it got up to speed.
I agree with the Taken vibe, but it's a working formula. Poor wee innocent kiddies get kidnapped by traffickers, big badass daddy/family friend hunts them down, killing hundreds of bad guys along the way. What's not to like in that? -

wow i never thought id see another rambo movie, i liked all rambo movies especially rambo 1, im defo going to see this when it comes out, friday u right i like some unrealstic 1 man on 100 and the 1 man wins in the end lol -

There dos seem to be an awful lot of films about trafficking about at the moment..literally the last couple of years seems to have seen a massive surge in movies about the subject. I enjoyed Rambo's 1 through 3..did see 4 but cant recall massive amounts about it..must mean it's ripe for a rewatch. The synopsis certainly does have a taken'esque vibe to it. That said, a taken/Rambo cocktail..Sly might be getting on a bit but the ingredient are there for somethiing pretty special. Show the youg whipper snapper, wanabe action stars of today exactly how its done (don't let us down Sly). -

wow gymaddict thats crazy i seen rambo 4 to but honestly cant remember one thing about it but i knowe i liked it, gona have to go watch 4 soon i think to, and i think i seen taken isnt that where his lilttle girl gets kidnapped?
