  The Finn, who won the world title for the Scuderia in 2007, is on the verge of being announced as Fernando Alonso's team-mate for the 2014 season, a move that will see Felipe Massa's eight-year association with the team come to an end.
  
  Raikkonen was heavily linked with Mark Webber's Red Bull spot earlier this season. However they decided to go with Daniele Ricciardo instead, leaving the Italians free to sign him up as a replacement for the inconsistent Massa.
  
  This will arguably give Ferrari the strongest driver line-up for next season, as well as making them most likely source for inter-team tension. Ricciardo might be happy to play second-fiddle to Vettel but you wouldn't imagine Raikkonen will accept a similar dynamic with Alonso.

  I hope Ferrari can man mange better than Red Bull....
  Ferrari paid off Kimi in order to get Alonso on board and at the time Massa had been performing better than him, so it was bye bye Kimi... Then Massa had his accident and since then he's been very much a 2nd place driver in the team, although at times has shown he still has it, so don't know what's going on there..
  Kimi won't be a 2nd place driver, and I imagine he must have had some promises as otherwise why go, mind the situation at Lotus isn't all that good is it, so maybe he had to make some concessions to get the better drive, and then see how it goes.
  But with that line up as you say, it will be the team to watch out for next year, and Kimi doesn't take shit as you've heard over the radio. I think it will be an exciting time, for the viewers anyway...

  Now this will be Prost and Senna all over again . The question is can Ferrari handle the agro ?? What under hand dasterdly stunt will Alonso pull to get number one spot ?? Will Alonso sulk like a little girl ??

  So he should as he was is one of the best drivers in the sport and needs to be in a seat with a big team no offence to where he is now but it's the truth

  So apparently the reason Raikkonen's jumping ship is because Lotus haven't paid him yet this year. That'll do it. Though I suppose a drive with Ferrari would have been tempting regardless.
  
  Fernando Alonso's been talking to the media about the prospect of racing alongside another world champion, he doesn't foresee any problems. Some quotes...
  
  "The motivation will be always similar. I will do my best all the time. Sometimes you deliver the results people expect; sometimes not. I don't think anyone will push me more than I push now.
  
  "[Having] two world champions - I don't think that makes any difference. It is something you keep writing these days and many people try to say (there will be problems)."
  
  Some from Kimi too, "I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. We are old enough to know what we are doing and the team is for sure working for the right things.
  
  "If there is something, I'm sure we can talk it through. It's not like we're 20. I might be wrong but time will tell. For sure there will be good fights on the race track. Sometimes things go wrong, but I'm pretty sure it will be OK."
  
  That's good then, i'm sure it'll all be peace and tranquility in 2014 and beyond.

  this is good news ive always like kimi and I love the fact he does his own thing Ferrari should respect him cos of his history with them and hopefully they will tell him and Alonso to just go for it and try not to take each other out

  i hope this works out well and improves ferrari so they can topple vettel and red bull next season. either way this will be fun to watch these two going at it in same car.
