  Batman: The Killing Joke is coming to movie theaters for one night only. On Monday, July 25 there will be two showings at select cinemas across the country. If you don't get a chance to see it in the cinema don't panic, you'll be able to download it on iTunes.

  Wouldnt say there has been a stellar amount of hype surrounding this which is a damn shame as 2 of the darker batman animated offerings to date have proved to be my favourites out of all the Batman animated movies to date (The Dark Knight Returns part 1 and 2). Im hoping for something special from 'The Killing Joke'. Honestly couldnt see myself rushing to the cinema to see an animated Batman film but i will be all over this when its available online.

  Even though i am extremely excited to see this film i wont be rushing to the cinema to see it. The killing Joke is possible one of the best comics there is and making a film of it looks like a really good idea. Some of the scenes from the movie are exactly the same as seen in the comic. Its nice to the original voice actors coming back as well, mainly Mark Hamill as the Joker.

  Unfortunately for me... As I was looking forward to seeing this (the comic is amazing and thought it would make an excellent film when it was announced). I won't be able to take advantage of the screening. I've made up for that by pre-ordering a special edition blu Ray for when it comes out instead. Mark Hamill as the Joker never fails to be awesome.

  Imagine my joy when checking online earlier that i saw 'The Killing joke' was now available. Suffice to say i have already downloaded it. Im not gonna look at the synopsis or reviews, am gonna lauch into it blind but am hoping for great thigs. Will post a review after i have got around to watching.

  thats a reminder, was meant to pre book my ticket for this! looking forward to watching The Killing Joke, the comic was one of the best Batman stories ive read,
  
  they need to do a animation or live action of Batman Death of a Family, its worth a read

  Thanks for the suggestion, SirWanksALot86 but not really into comics / graphic novels. Still, if the story in question was made into a film..animation or otherwise..no doubt i would check it out. Ok, i did watch The Killing Joke yesterday and while i didnt dislike the film i was hoping for more. Granted its not action packed (there is some mind) but that didnt really bother me. Granted to characters were kinda 'so so' with one notable exception.and that of course was The Joker. He really made the film for me, genuinly creepy and haunting with top notch animation and voice work by Hamill..all led to a genuinly creepy Joker. The story was certainly dark but although im guessing the story of the same name ended the same way in the comics but for me, i thought the very end was total bollocks. Wont spoil it but that end left a bad taste in my mouth.

  the final joke is really funny but the end was a bit lame i watched it yesterday never read the graphic novel was expecting more but it still was well worth watching it

  Thats the thing about humour, Steve40..it really can be selective. I didnt get the joke or find it even remotely funny. Just found the whhole thing anticlimactic given everything that had occured. Again though, while critical, for all i know this may have been true to the original graphic novel in which case i cant really critiscise it.

  i used to like the cartoon series that used to come on tv back in the day, but when it stopped showing i guess i just grew out of it but i would check this out if it came on tv sometime
