  Yes, richpk is correct, it is from The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin. The original series from the 1970's, not that dire re-make with Martin Clunes.

  I really do not know what that quote is from richpk, it seems vaguely familiar but not familiar enough to even have a random guess, i'll wait for a hint or something see if that helps me.

  Yeah having read the clue, i can safely say that i am never going to get this one mate, it is clearly something that i have never seen before because would think i`d recognise that second quote, so i am going to stop back from this one and let someone else take a guess.

  as you've given away the names of the two main characters i'm pretty certain someone will get this, but i have thought of one i wanna use as well so i'm going to say nip tuck. i was fairly sure before but seeing the names confirmed it for me lol

  Yeah the names gave it away to me, and once i saw that it reminded me of the quotes but as you pretty much gave the answer i thought as humiliateme actually knew it before you gave it away he should probably do the next one lol.
