I really really enjoyed this and it's amongst the most entertaining films I've watched so far this year. Amber Midthunder's performance as Naru is as compelling as Linda Hamilton in The Terminator and Sigourney Weaver in Alien. Her character progression from the start of the film to the end is emotionally endearing. Her goals, ambitions, intelligence, relationships and place within her community are established perfectly. Dan Trachenberg's directing is at times visually stunning, with his use of natural lighting and real locations that show of the expansive beauty of rural America. The action scenes are creatively stunning and brutally visceral. I love how the story is reduced back to the core element of the original film being a slasher flick, that was disguised as hyper-masculine testosterone filled action film. This is easily the best Predator film since the first one and I hope Midthunder goes onto having a great career in acting. There is an option to watch it in Comanche too, which is really cool.
