And betting tips.
Aston Villa v Hull
The best that can be said for Villa at the moment is that they’re not quite as awful as Norwich, and that should see them safe. That’s not to say three points here wouldn’t be useful, mind, but I reckon they might have to settle for one. 9/4 for the draw looks nice, as does 3.5+ match goals at 3/1. Hard to say where the home ones are coming from but for Hull, Jelavic (2/1) or Long (5/2) in the anytimes, obviously.
Prediction: 2-2 (14/1)
Man Utd v Sunderland
With the form they’re in at the minute, there’s probably something to be said for the Sunderland double chance at 21/10. For similar odds though (9/4) you can have United with a -2 handicap. Not saying either’s going to happen but the latter does seem a touch more likely. Play it sensible and take the -1 at 5/6. Connor Wickham for the opening goal though? It’s cracking value at 9/1 and still leaves plenty of time for Mata (11/8) to chip in with one later on.
Prediction: 3-1 (9/1)
Newcastle v Cardiff
It’s difficult to imagine either side doing enough for the win really. Newcastle are still struggling for goals but if Remy’s fit there aren’t many more obliging defences than Cardiff’s. So home win (EVS), just. Speaking of Remy, he’s 4/1 to score first but wait for the team news before diving in.
Prediction: 2-1 (15/2)
Stoke v Fulham
As much as Fulham need the win, and as much as Stoke don’t really have anything left to play for, this could be a tricky one for Felix Magath’s side. The draw might be worth a go at 5/2 but 3/1 on the home win to nil looks the better bet. Have a look at under 2.5 goals at 5/6 too, or 1.5 is 11/4 if you’re feeling brave.
Prediction: 1-0 (7/1)
Swansea v Southampton
The only match this weekend in which neither team has anything to play for. Expect lots of nice build-up play, minimal end product, and a draw (12/5). Also, Bony to score first (9/2). Maybe he’ll even get 2? That’s 7/1 if you fancy it.
Prediction: 1-1 (11/2)
