And betting tips:
Aston Villa v Southampton
Southampton were unlucky to lose against Cardiff last week but from their position of mid-table security, it does raise doubts as to whether they can get results against teams that are up against it. Villa certainly fall in to that category I wouldn’t be surprised if they got a draw (9/4) here. I’d even be tempted to go for the home win at 5/2 if they weren’t playing so terribly. All about the Saints in the scorers though; Lambert 15/8 or Lallana 5/2 any time, take your pick.
Prediction: 1-1 (5/1)
Cardiff v Stoke
Another one where the formbook goes out the window. Cardiff will fancy their chances after last weekend’s result and they look decent value for the win at 6/4. Possibly worth going with under 1.5 match goals (9/4) too, but mostly I’m thinking it might be best to give this one a wide berth.
Prediction: 1-0 (13/2)
Newcastle v Swansea
Remy might be available, so Newcastle might actually score. He’s 11/8 any time but wait for the team news before going large. Either way, it really has got to be the Swansea win. 7/4! Scenes! Let’s quit while we’re ahead yeah?
Prediction: 1-2 (9/1)
West Ham v Crystal Palace
Palace went to Everton and scored 3 midweek, what the hell was all that about? It’s almost enough to have you predicting loads of goals here as well, at least until you remember it’s Allardyce v Pulis and catch under 1.5 giving you the eye at 2/1. 9/4 for the draw’s not bad either.
Prediction: 0-0 (15/2)
ACCA: Chelsea and Man City to win to nil, Liverpool with a -2 handicap, Swansea outright and a draw between West Ham and Palace. 111/1!
