SATURDAY
Crystal Palace v Aston Villa
Never really sure what to expect from Villa but with the run Palace are on it’s got to be the home win at 11/10. Chances are it’ll be to nil and at 21/10 that's great value. In the scorers, look no further than Jason Puncheon, he’s in good form at the moment and 3/1 any time.
Prediction: 2-0 (15/2)
Fulham v Norwich
What an absolute six-pointer! The loser’s probably down, and in such situations I’d normally sit on the fence. You need to score to win games though and I can’t see where the goals are coming from for Norwich. Fulham win (23/20), but a tense one, and to nil (13/5).
Prediction: 1-0 (13/2)
Southampton v Cardiff
Rodriguez to score first has been far and away my favourite bet of the season. Earned me a few quid too, but now he’s out for six months and I’m not sure what to do (poet). I say I’m not sure, it’ll probably be Lambert (7/2) or Lallana (11/2) won’t it? Should be a comfortable win for the Saints, and I can’t see you going far wrong with 6/5 on the -1 handicap, or 3.5+ match goals at 13/8.
Prediction: 3-1 (10/1)
Stoke v Newcastle
Looks like another home banker, so get yourselves on the Stoke win outright at 11/10. The -1 handicap is do-able as well at 3/1, but 23/10 on them winning to nil is the one for me seeing as Newcastle are still without Loic Remy. Got to be Odemwingie in the scorers, 15/8 any time.
Prediction: 2-0 (8/1)
Sunderland v Everton
Sunderland have home advantage and massively need the win, but don’t for a moment let that put you off taking Everton at 4/5. I’m more inclined to go for 3.5+ goals at 9/4 than to start calling any big handicaps though, it could be tight. Lukaku’s 6/5 in the any times and you really should be having some of that.
Prediction: 1-3 (12/1)
West Brom v Tottenham
The Baggies love a draw at home but Spurs are quite keen on thumping teams at the bottom of the table. Tough call, but 12/5 on the former is just about more appealing than the away side with, say, a -1 handicap at 7/2. Adebayor (7/4) or Eriksen (3/1) in the any times.
Prediction: 1-1 (11/2)
Wigan v Arsenal (FA Cup)
So Wigan are 11/2 for the win here. Not about to take them up on that, but would anyone be all that shocked if Arsenal bottled it? Obviously the Gunners
should come through comfortably, and 10/3 on the -2 handicap
should be a gimme… But I’m keeping my money in my pocket.
Prediction: 1-2 (13/2)
SUNDAY
Liverpool v Man City
The big one! Liverpool are probably deserved favourites (7/5) but I can’t help but feel that City are better equipped to deal with the sense of occasion. Saying that, the draw looks tasty at 13/5. Who knows? Should be plenty of goals though and 3/1 on 4.5+ is tempting, as is Suarez to get 2+ at 6/1.
Prediction: 3-3 (28/1)
Swansea v Chelsea
Can see this being another one where Chelsea make hard work of it. Wouldn’t go as far as to call the draw (11/4) but 11/8 for the away win outright is decent enough regardless. Not easy to pick a Chelsea scorer (maybe Schurrle 2/1 any time?) but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bony nick one for the Swans at some point. 5/2 if you fancy it.
Prediction: 1-2 (15/2)
Hull v Sheffield United (FA Cup)
United deserve credit for getting this far but Hull are a tidy outfit and you shouldn’t have any hesitation in getting on 8/11 for a Tigers win here. Goals could be a problem though as Long and Jelavic are both cup-tied. With that in mind, under 1.5 at 9/4 might be worth a look.
Prediction: 1-0 (9/2)
