And betting tips:
Everton v Cardiff
Not saying Everton won’t win, just that 4/11 isn’t much incentive. The flip side of that though is the Cardiff double chance at 2/1, and they did win last weekend… 3.5+ match goals worth a go at 17/10, with Lukaku 10/3 to get the first of them.
Prediction: 2-2 (22/1)
Fulham v Newcastle
You never know with Newcastle at the best of times, and with Pardew on a stadium ban for this trip to a side with
far more to play for than his, it really could go either way. Tread carefully, but if you’re desperate for a nibble why not have a go at the home win with BTTS? Yours at a just-about plausible 4/1. Loic Remy seems to have found a bit of form again and 11/8 any time looks decent.
Prediction: 2-1 (9/1)
Southampton v Norwich
Jay Rodriguez tends to save his opening goals for the away games, so I might have to pass up 9/2 on him scoring first here in favour of Lallana at 7/1. Saints win all the way though, 31/20 with a -1 handicap or 13/8 to nil.
Prediction: 2-0 (13/2)
Stoke v West Ham
One for the purists, this. Both sides have opened up a bit of a gap on the bottom three and one imagines they’d happily settle for a point apiece. The score draw looks a great shout at 4/1, as does Nolan scoring any time at 15/4. Mind you, Andy Carroll’s available again and 3/1 on him isn’t bad either.
Prediction: 1-1 (6/1)
Sunderland v Crystal Palace
Palace were pretty poor in defeat to Southampton last weekend and I can’t see them having much joy here either. Expecting it to be tight though so fewer than 1.5 goals at 13/8 is worth a look. 11/10 for the Sunderland win outright seems pretty generous as well.
Prediction: 1-0 (5/1)
Swansea v West Brom
There was a spell earlier in the season where I was having a moan most weeks about Swansea being way shorter than they had any right to be. 10/11 on them winning this one is a bargain though, West Brom are having an awful time of it. Having said that, 5/2 for the draw looks alright too… Tough call.
Prediction: 2-1 (8/1)
