Finished 5-1 at Anfield. Does that put Liverpool back in the title race?
Betting tips for the 3 o'clock kick-offs:
Aston Villa v West Ham
Villa have been poor at home, West Ham have been poor everywhere… Something’s got to give! No Andy Carroll (probably) for the away side though so let’s say Villa will shade it. The home win’s 11/10 or 3/1 with a -1 handicap. With BTTS it’s 17/5, which I reckon they might, just don’t hold me to it. Benteke’s 11/8 to score any time, which isn’t too shabby at all.
Prediction: 3-1 (16/1)
Chelsea v Newcastle
After stinking the place out against Sunderland last weekend, it’d be just like Newcastle to go and get a result here. Not saying they will, but they’ll be on no acca of mine. The draw’s 11/2 but Chelsea with the -2 is more likely isn’t it? 13/8 for that. No idea who’ll score…
Prediction: 2-0 (9/2)
Crystal Palace v West Brom
Palace can’t move for home games against fellow strugglers at the moment. They tend to win them 1-0 though, so I guess they shouldn’t really grumble. Assuming that’ll be the score again here, fewer than 1.5 match goals at 15/8 is worth a look, either that or the home clean sheet at 31/20. The Palace win outright is pretty generous at 13/8 too. Puncheon’s scored a few lately and is worth a go at 15/4 any time or 10/1 first.
Prediction: 1-0 (13/2)
Norwich v Man City
Even shit-away-from-home City would have battered Norwich, so now they’re playing alright it could be brutal. They’re 23/20 to score 3 or more, which they probably will, and 9/4 to overcome a -2 handicap, which they probably will… Negredo’s 11/4 to score 2 or more himself, and Dzeko 15/4. Possibly a touch stingy, those but it’s all about probability innit?
Prediction: 0-3 (17/2)
Southampton v Stoke
If you only place one bet this weekend, make it jay Rodriguez to score first here at 9/2. Once that’s out of the way Adam Lallana will probably chip in too (2/1 any time). So yeah, home win, 8/15, 7/5 with a -1 and 14/5 with BTTS. Still no Lovren for the Saints so Stoke will probably score at some point.
Prediction: 3-1 (12/1)
Sunderland v Hull
Sunderland are gonna bloody well need to win games like this if they’re to stay out of trouble! In decent form though, so they should do. Adam Johnson’s 5/2 to score any time, have some of that.
Prediction: 1-0 (11/2)
