Aston Villa v West Brom
The Villa win is 6/4 and West Brom are 2/1. I’m struggling to pick a winner too, so it may as well be the draw at 9/4, or 16/5 with BTTS. Even better. Christian Benteke’s not exactly firing but he has improved of late. 6/4 on him scoring any time is worth a look, if only for the fact that there’s no realistic alternative. Anichebe at 12/5? I’ll leave that, ta.
Prediction: 1-1 (11/2)
Chelsea v West Ham
Having less trouble calling this one, funnily enough. Chelsea are 2/11 for the win so it’s just a case of how many really. 11/8 with a -2 handicap looks safe enough; as does them keeping a clean sheet at 8/11, but if you’re feeling adventurous, try the -3 at 16/5. Hazard (5/1) and Oscar (6/1) are both tempting propositions in the first goal market.
Prediction: 3-0 (6/1)
Sunderland v Stoke
The home side’s league form has improved, but not so much that the Stoke win at 29/10 isn’t massively tempting. The draw’s probably the more realistic outcome though, and decent value at 12/5. Take a good look at Adam Johnson too, he’s 8/1 to score first or 12/5 any time.
Prediction: 1-1 (11/2)
Tottenham v Man City
On the one hand, Tottenham lost 6-0 at the Emirates, and that’s why they’re as long as 3/1 for the win here. But on the other, are Man City’s troubles away from home so far behind them that we can all start backing them at 10/11? Spurs are on a good run and I don’t think a high scoring draw is at all beyond them. 4.5+ match goals at 14/5 looks a great shout, and you’d be mad to turn your nose up at Adebayor scoring any time at 15/8 (he has got form when it comes to facing former clubs). If you do fancy City, then couple it up with BTTS (11/5) and make it worthwhile.
Prediction: 2-3 (16/1)
Treble: Bit of a risky one, but £5 on draws at Villa Park, the Stadium of Light and White Hart Lane could see you more than £200 to the good!
