SATURDAY
Man City v Arsenal 12:45
7 against Norwich, 6 against Spurs, how many will they put past the Gunners? A bloodbath is unlikely but it’s a quick turnaround for the away side after their defeat at Napoli Wednesday night. City meanwhile, have had day extra to recover and won’t be short of confidence on the back of their win in Munich. 31/40 for the home win seems pretty reasonable to me, though throwing caution to the wind and chasing the big money (Arsenal 18/5) is tempting as well. Also, how about Nasri to score any time (against his former club) at 13/5? A delicious prospect for him, while Ramsey at 100/30 is a delicious prospect for me.
Prediction: 2-1 (7/1)
Cardiff v West Brom
Neither are going great at the moment and this could be a nervy one with whoever loses likely to find themselves in a spot of relegation bother. With that in mind, lets call it a draw (23/10).
Prediction: 1-1 (5/1)
Chelsea v Crystal Palace
1/6 for the home win, 16/1 the away. Fair enough really but Palace are playing well and Chelsea aren’t, could be tight. How about the visitors with a +1 handicap at 4/1? As ever it’s hard work to pick anyone from Chelsea in the scorer markets. Maybe Ba at 15/4 to score first but Chamakh at 4/1 and Jerome 19/4 for Palace, and at any time, are far more appealing.
Prediction: 3-1 (10/1)
Everton v Fulham
Fulham did beat Villa, and Everton are going to have to come unstuck at some point. The draw at 15/4 maybe? No ta. Lukaku looks a good bet to open the scoring at 14/5 and Deulofeu any time at 31/20 is tempting as well. I fancy there to be a few goals too, 4.5+ could be worth a go at 4/1.
Prediction: 4-1 (150/1)
Newcastle v Southampton
Southampton like to cause upsets, Newcastle like to inflict them on themselves. I’ll not suggest a safer tip all weekend than leaving this one well the fuck alone. Quick mention for Remy, 8/5 to net at any time, Dani Osvaldo too, he’s found a bit of form and is 7/1 to open the scoring. That’s your lot though.
Prediction: God knows. 2-2? (14/1)
West Ham v Sunderland
If I could be arsed to look it up I’d probably find that along with Fulham, these two are most out-of-from sides in the division. Sam Allardyce seems to be under a bit of pressure, that’s not to say Poyet isn’t but Sunderland are
definitely fucked. Home win (37/40). Carlton Cole’s 11/2 favourite to open the scoring. Hahahahaha!
Prediction: 1-0 (11/2)
Hull v Stoke 17:30
Less than 1.5 goals! 7/4! Who picked this for TV? Not gonna be a classic, is it? Sporting Bet haven’t even bothered with scorer odds, so neither will I.
Prediction: 0-0 (13/2)
SUNDAY
Aston Villa v Man Utd 13:30
The start of United’s run of winnable fixtures, though they looked more that way before Robin van Persie was ruled out for a month. The away win at 31/40 doesn’t interest me in the slightest, the draw at 13/5 on the other hand… I was going to point you in the direction of United to score fewer than 1.5 goals but the bookies got their first. Hardly seems worthwhile at 10/11. Rooney’s 15/4 to open the scoring if you fancy it.
Prediction: 1-1 (6/1)
Norwich v Swansea 13:30
OK, Norwich haven’t exactly been amazing of late. They did win last week though, and Swansea played in the Europa League Thursday night. Struggling to see how the away side are 31/20 favourites to be honest. Get on the home win at 9/5, or the draw at 23/10 if you must. Gary Hooper might score, you heard it here first.
Prediction: 2-1 (9/1)
Tottenham v Liverpool 16:00
Right then, Suarez. 15/4 to score first, 11/10 anytime and 9/2 to get 2 or more. I like that last one. Could be goals, and you can have 5/1 on more than 4.5 of them. Which way’s it going though? Not much separating them in the outrights, Spurs are 29/20 with Liverpool 37/20. Away win for me.
Prediction: 2-4 (80/1)
Accumulator: £5 on wins for Man City, Chelsea, Everton West Ham and Norwich (look out) could return just over £76!
