Saturday's games...
Aston Villa v Cardiff
Villa could really do with the win here but with Weimann and Agbonlahor both ruled out, much will depend on the fit-again Christian Benteke. No Luna or Bennett for the home side either but Fabian Delph is in contention after illness. Cardiff will be buoyed by last weekend’s win in the South Wales derby and have no new injury concerns. Andreas Cornelius has returned to training but this game is likely to have come too soon for him.
Chelsea v West Brom
Still no Torres for Chelsea as they look to bounce back from last weekend’s humiliation at Newcastle, so Ba or Eto’o will start up front. Eden Hazard should return after being sent to the naughty step for the Schalke game. West Brom are likely to be without Chelsea old-boys Nicolas Anelka and Scott Sinclair, but Victor Anichebe could return, for what its worth…
Crystal Palace v Everton
Still no permanent manager in place at Palace as they entertain an in-form Everton side this afternoon. No Adlene Guedioura either after he picked up a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung against West Brom. Romelu Lukaku is fit for the Toffees despite banging his knee on Hugo Lloris’s head last weekend but Aurone Kone could miss the season with his knee injury.
Liverpool v Fulham
The home side could have Glen Johnson and Jose Enrique available again, and Phillippe Coutinho is ready to start as he makes his comeback from injury. Fulham need a win badly but the absence of Brede Hangelaand, Bryan Ruiz and Sascha Riether won’t help their cause.
Southampton v Hull
October manager of the month Mauricio Pochettino made wholesale changes for Southampton’s cup defeat at Sunderland midweek, and England’s Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana should return here. Jay Rodriguez might have a fight on for his place with Dani Osvaldo returning to fitness though. No new injury concerns for the Saints, apart from Guly. Hull are without Sone Aluko, Robbie Brady, James Chester and Allan McGregor, but Danny Graham is available again after being ineligible against Sunderland (his parent club) last week.
Norwich v West Ham 17:30
Rickie van Wolfswinkel and Nathan Redmond’s absence for the home side won’t do their attempts to score a goal much good, ditto for West Ham who are still without Mladen Petric, Andy Carroll and Ricardo vaz Te. Both sides are desperate for a win, somehow.
