Here we are then, last weekend of the season.
All games kick off 3pm Sunday.
Cardiff v Chelsea
Chelsea haven’t been great lately, sure, but Cardiff lost to bloody Newcastle last weekend. Away win then, and 21/20 with the -1 handicap looks a decent acca pick. 6/4 on Chelsea to win to nil is worth a go too, or for a similar price (11/8) hows about under 2.5 match goals? Not really fancying anyone in the scorers but Eto’o at 7/2 to get the first is probably the best of the bunch.
Prediction: 0-2 (13/2)
Fulham v Crystal Palace
It’s the sort of thing you end up regret saying, but I sort of fancy Fulham to get something here as they bow out of the top flight. Home win’s 8/5, the draw 12/5 and of the two I’m just about going with the latter. 3.5+ goals though? All over that at 7/4, and Puncheon looks a good shout to chip in too (7/2 any time).
Prediction: 2-2 (10/1)
Hull v Everton
Both sides seem to have lost their way a bit as the season has drawn to a close. Hull mostly though, and with one eye on the FA Cup final they could be for the taking here. No need for handicaps, just take the away win as it is (21/20). Got to fancy Jelavic up against his former club though, he’s 7/1 to get the first or 5/2 any time.
Prediction: 1-2 (7/1)
Liverpool v Newcastle
The pressure seems to have taken its toll on Liverpool in recent weeks but with the title now as good as gone I can see them having some fun here. The home win with a -2 handicap looks about right at 23/20 but 13/8 on 4.5+ match goals is the one, no doubt. So what are we saying, a couple each for Suarez and Sturridge? They’re 15/8 and 11/4 respectively to get 2 or more.
Prediction: 4-1 (11/1)
Man City v West Ham
Who remembers that QPR game a couple of years back? City only need a point to claim the title here, and that’s just as well because I can see them making hard work of it. The draw might well be worth a go at 7/1 but 8/5 on the Hammers with a +2 handicap is probably the safer and more likely option. I’m going with that. In the scorers, have a think about Andy Carroll trying to do Liverpool a favour at 5/1 any time.
Prediction: 2-1 (9/1)
Norwich v Arsenal
This looked like being a massive game a couple of weeks ago, but with Arsenal assured of 4th and Norwich relegated an upset seems all the less likely. The away win to nil (13/5) shouldn’t cause you much trouble but that’s not to say the Gunners will tear them to pieces, so have a look at under 2.5 goals at 11/8 too. In the anytimes it’s got to be Ramsey (5/2).
Prediction: 0-2 (9/1)
Southampton v Man Utd
Once upon a time you could set your watch by the Saints beating United at home. It’s been a while since that last happened but the home win at 8/5 versus the away at 7/4 shows that Southampton have definitely got a chance. Draw for me though, and that’s 12/5. Could be loads of goals, could be a quiet one, it’s hard to say. Lambert to get the first though? All over that at 11/2.
Prediction: 1-1 (11/2)
Sunderland v Swansea
You’d have thought the home win would have been odds-on the way Sunderland are playing at the moment. It’s not though, it’s 6/5, and you need to get on it. Seems pretty likely that Wickham and/or Borini will be amongst the goals, and they’re 11/8 and 15/8 respectively to score any time. Also decent.
Prediction: 2-0 (10/1)
Tottenham v Aston Villa
Spurs only need a point to guarantee Europa League football for next season but knowing their luck they’ll probably end up with all three. The home win with a -1 handicap works at 6/5, and while the -2 might be stretching it, 3/1 should take the edge off. Can’t see it making much difference to the outcome, but Weimann to score for Villa (a consolation maybe) could be worth a go at 7/2 any time.
Prediction: 3-1 (9/1)
West Brom v Stoke
Well seeing as it’s West Brom under Pepe Mel, at home, draw (5/2). Not much more to say really, other than Peter Odemwingie’s playing alright and returning to his former club, so you’d imagine he’ll get on the scoresheet. He’s 6/1 for the first, and 9/1 to get 2 or more. Could happen.
Prediction: 2-2 (12/1)
ACCA: A nice big one to finish off the season… Chelsea and Arsenal to win to nil, West Ham with a +2 handicap, Spurs with a -1 and Sunderland to win outright. 113/1!
