isn't it great that before each football match the players and officials take the knee to show their support against racisme. well done premier league for taking the moral high ground. except that they have approved a takeover of Newcastle United by a Saudi based consortium. The Saudi where homophobia is rampant. kids ( yes children ) can be executed. but they premier league have an assurance that 'the kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not control Newcastle United' so that is alright then. except that the leader of the board of the consortium is none other than crown prince mohamad bin Salman. the man the CIA say was behind the murder and cutting into little pieces of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi. and the Premiier league let him into English football ! Keep taking the knee lads. the premier league wants equality but not if it gets in the way of money.

the scenes of jubilation outside st James' park when the takeover was announced were more shocking to me than the violence at the England game. seriously the guy is a monster, just because he is a rich monster does not alter anything.

there has been much rebuke ( some of it at prime ministerial level) directed to those who booed the taking of the knee ( and there are various legitimate reasons to goo this lip service , yeah they have been booing they have been taking the knee for a year now and i do not know that the US cops have taken too much notice ) but if my team play newcastle utd and they take the knee to show there is no place for inequality i think booing is completely legitimate if not compulsory. THEY MURDERED A JOURNALIST !

apparently the police are investigating a banner at the Newcastle game about the Saudi take over and asking whether it complies with the 'FIT AND PROPER PERSON' rule.
Well it is nice to see that someone is investigating it. the premier league clearly did not.
