Poyet on his way out?
StrumSolo > 21/06/2013, 12:48
Looks like the Uruguayan could be on the look-out for a new job from today as the findings of the inquiry in to his alleged misconduct are announced.
And apparently Brighton have lined up Oscar Garcia as his replacement. The 40 year old Spaniard played for Barcelona in his younger days and also spent 2 seasons managing their youth team. More recently he's been in charge of Maccabi Tel-Aviv who he led to their first Israeli championship in 10 years.
Moral of the story, don't shit on your own doorstep, or on the floor of the away changing room. -

I still dont actually know what Poyet did wrong? Seems the club have dramatically over reacted to what he said and didnt handle the situation of the shit in changing room incedent very well at all
maybe i have missed something but isnt he a major reason they are getting better each year? -

I am well aware of the incidence and his emailed wasnt out of line as far as i am concerned, I actually agreed with what he had to say. thats why i have o idea why they have taken this line with him, they sould have backed him and said they will try and find and sacked the people responsible for the 'shitting' incident and we will back him n the transfer market.
what they have done is put all the good work Poyet and his coaching staff have achieved in jeopardy -

It's also been said that the relationship between Poyet and the chairman has broken down. So it might be something behind the scenes that's not public knowledge. Agree that it's a strange move though, he's done well there. -

Hopefully they get it sorted and get someone of equal quality in as their next manager, I have always had a soft spot for Brighton as i live in Sussex.
Will be interesting where Gus ends up next as he clearly has no future with Brighton -

So they sacked him while he was live on the BBC. Still no closer to finding out a reason why.
He's going to appeal apparently so anyone they did bring in would only be on an interim basis, if Poyet wins the appeal then he'd still be manager see.
Can't help but think they'd have been better off paying up his contract and getting rid of him that way. They might be saving a bit of money this way but all the uncertainty can't be good for their pre-season. -

Really shifty the way they sacked him whilst he was live on TV lol Seriously have no idea what they were thinking.
I noticed the new guy will come in as Head Coach, so i guess the are hoping they wont have to worry with appointing him whilst Gus appeals as he was manager and they can claim a different rule so not like for like replacement -

Good point there chub.
Can't imagine Poyet will ever end up back there though. If he does win his appeal then they'll just pay his contract up, which was I suspect the point of this whole disciplinary process in the first place, the board trying to save themselves a couple of million quid.
