  Hi all. has anyone any information on the above named 'porn passports' apparently there are plans afoot ( i am led to believe anyway ) that people have to register to prove they are above 18 before they are allowed to watch adult content on the internet. i am not happy about that . do not trust anything that is supposedly secure. i would not be happy with that . i like the anonymity ( stjohn is not my real name - but do not tell DAISY thai chat as she thinks it is ) . anyone got any firm news on this development ?

  okay. so i am replying to my own thread. yesterday i was watching s66 and chatted how i could view this channel, one of the visitors said it was difficult as you had to prove your age. i mentioned the porn passports that i had heard about and someone else said they were starting in june. is this true. i would have thought i would have been contacted by rampant to set this up if i cannot watch rampant without one. anyone got any knowledge.

  Hi stjohn66. It should not be a problem for VIPs as their age is already authenticated by them using their credit card to pay for their membership. Non VIPs who live in the UK will be affected though if they access any porn website without using a credit card or bank account to pay for their access.
  
  I also am unhappy about this development as it breaks once and for all the anonymity of your web usage if you access free sites currently. It will be interesting to see how this plays out as there are a number of options that could be taken to allow access to a site. But the vast database which will be created of people who access porn in the UK will become a blackmailer's dream once hacked, as it surely will be sooner or later. If people can hack into a country's defense systems and into banks as well, where millions is spent on IT security, there seems little doubt that this collection of data will prove irresistible to criminals.
  
  I am wondering whether people who have once been VIPs on their account will have to prove their age yet again to use this website. As this will have been established when they became a VIP originally, I would not expect this to be necessary but it would be good to have this confirmed.

  I will get one if Michelle Moist and Alice Goodwin are the passport officers and they have to do a strip search when I go to the airport
