  So i cant beleive thier redoing one of my alltime fav films is nothing untouchable and to make matters worse Bodie is going to be played by Gerrad butler every film i start watching atm has this douche bag in it i now wait to findout whom gets the role of jonny utah (keanu reeves) in the orginal

  Doesn't surprise me, they seem to want to remake every film now, apparently there is also a remake of Pet Semetary planned, and Terminator (at least I think that's a remake, at least partial remake), they pretty much already have made a remake of Poltergeist, and the remake to Robocop is out this year.
  That's just to name a few, seems eventually every film will be remade.

  I agree, to touch Point Break for a remake means no film is safe from the cash greedy whores of hollywood!

  this is a bad sign - point break is not a fukkin classic film by any stretch, it's just another good movie. remaking three musketeers or sherlock holmes 100 times is one thing, but remaking stuff like point break is just a sign they can't come up with something decent themselves
  
  oh and anthony kiedis could play himself lol!! he still looks ok lol
  
  
  and they gonna remake terminator??? really?? i mean sure terminator 1 is a coupla decades old, but cmon now the terminator STORY is only, what, 2009??

  Well the planned film for a new terminator is basically a remake, it's going back to a younger sarah connor so i can't see how it's anything else. And the idea of a Terminator remake is just wrong, one of my favourite filmes).
  I expect it now, i was very pissed when they remade Evil Dead, after all the years people have asked and Raimi said no (while promising a sequel), so this remake doesn't surprise me.

  Depressing isn't it... taking an absolute classic film and re-making it, which just means making it worse. But its all about money isn't it... the crazy thing is how many remakes there are generally nowadays... can no-one come up with a new idea anymore?
