SATURDAY
Arsenal v Man City 12:45
Remember how Arsenal got destroyed pretty much every time they came up against decent opposition last season? Don't think this one will be
quite as embarrassing, but City are still winning. They're 6/4 outright, and 7/2 with the -1 handicap might be worth a go as well. It's tough to pick individual scorers (especially with Ramsey doubtful) so just go for 3.5+ in the match at 2/1. And if you wondering, Welbeck's 2/1 any time.
Prediction: 1-3 (16/1)
Chelsea v Swansea
Both sides have got 100% records so far, something's got to give. It'll most likely be Swansea but 3/10 on the Chelsea win does seem a touch optimistic. Maybe the away side at 5/2 with a +1? If Costa's fit, and let's face it he probably will be, have a look at 11/4 on him getting the first.
Prediction: 2-1 (15/2)
Crystal Palace v Burnley
The league's bottom two clubs, with just a point apiece to their names. Six-pointer? Already? Got to be Palace for the win really (6/5 outright) but if you're after something a little longer how about the draw at 9/4?
Prediction: 1-0 (5/1)
Southampton v Newcastle
The Saints were an absolute delight in their last game against West Ham, while Newcastle continue to look a bit of a shambles. Their record on the south coast is pretty terrible too so it'll have to be the home win (4/5 outright), all day long. I'd even go as far to call the -2 handicap at 11/2. Graziano Pelle seems to be finding some form and looks decent value at 15/8 any time.
Prediction: 3-0 (12/1)
Stoke v Leicester
The home side are 11/10 outright. Hard to believe they're not odds-on really, especially after that win at the Etihad. Still, one should never look a gift horse in the mouth. Get it on your acca! Goals might be in short supply though so have a go on under 1.5 at 7/4.
Prediction: 1-0 (5/1)
Sunderland v Tottenham
Spurs didn't look too clever against Liverpool last time out but if we're going on the assumption that they'll carry on from where they left off last season (losing against decent sides, spanking the average ones), 11/10 on the away win is half decent. Adebayor remains the best goal prospect (9/2 any time) but why not throw caution to the wind and back Lamela at 8s?
Prediction: 1-2 (15/2)
West Brom v Everton
The Baggies at home? Draw, obviously (12/5). Everton haven't looked particularly convincing so far, especially in defence, so 3.5+ match goals at 9/4 is a decent shout as well. More specifically, Steven Naismith at 15/8 any time. Form.
Prediction: 2-2 (12/1)
Liverpool v Aston Villa 17:30
In which Villa's previously impressive defensive record gets mangled beyond recognition. Sturridge is out, which is something, but that just means Balotelli's more likely to start. And be the focal point. He's 3/1 to get the first and 7/2 to score 2 or more. Otherwise, 4.5+ at 3/1?
Prediction: 4-1 (14/1)
SUNDAY
Man Utd v QPR 16:00
This weekend, this is the one where it all clicks. Probably. There's no benefit in backing the home win at 3/10 outright but if your faith hasn't been irreversibly shaken, the -2 handicap is 19/10. The -3's 9/2 but maybe that's taking things too far. QPR are pretty solid at the back after all, and United haven't scored 3 goals all season. Falcao could be the man to remedy that though, and he's 10/3 to get 2 or more.
Prediction: 2-0 (4/1)
MONDAY
Hull v West Ham 20:00
Pre Ramirez, Hernandez and Ben Arfa I'd have called a 1-0 home win and gone about my day. But with such attacking options at his disposal, who knows how many Steve Bruce's side have got in them? If West Ham's performance against Southampton last time out is anything to go by they won't be putting up much in the way of resistance... Hull with the -1 at 10/3, and at 23/20 the outright should be a cert for your acca.
Prediction: 2-0 (8/1)
