The Australian test batsman has died in hospital, aged 25. He was struck on the top of his neck by a Sean Abbott bouncer during a Sheffield Shield match between South Australia and New South Wales on Sunday, and never regained consciousness.
He played 26 tests for Australia, averaging 32.65, and also had spells in England with Hampshire, Middlesex and Worcestershire.
Proper sad news.
Here he is at his best, scoring 126 for Australia against Sri Lanka in 2011.
