PEOPLE ARE NOW HACKING OFF LIMBS TO BECOME DISABLED BY CHOICE

A bunch of people are intentionally injuring themselves so they can make themselves disabled. In case you're wondering why the fuck anyone would want to do such a thing, it's because these people feel that they are trapped in the wrong body much like transgender people.

The term for such a crazy thing is called 'transabled' and according to one man, who cut off his arm with a power tool, the goal is to feel more comfortable in your own body by becoming disabled. This sounds more like something from a horror movie to me. The man apparently spent months researching ways to remove his arm and even practiced on animal parts from a butcher before doing it on himself.



Aexandre Baril, a teacher from Quebec has studied this weird desire and now gives lectures on ‘transability’. He says:

We define transability as the desire or the need for a person identified as able-bodied by other people to transform his or her body to obtain a physical impairment.
The person could want to become deaf, blind, amputee, paraplegic. It’s a really, really strong desire.

There are researchers all over the world trying to figure out this deep rooted desire to become disabled and have started interviewing people who have this need. Unsurprisingly, a lot of the people who are transabled come from Germany and tend to want a limb amputated, to become blind or be totally paralysed. There's also one dude who wants to have his dick removed.
This woman is so desperate to be become paralysed that she wears leg braces and uses a wheelchair in a bid to feel disabled. She found a surgeon willing to perform the dangerous surgery on her to make her paralysed but she hasn't been able to come up with the funds. She now skis in her spare time and takes on the most dangerous slopes in the hope that an accident will occur and make her paralysed.



This next woman wanted to be blind so bad she would stare at the sun for hours in the hope to try and damage her eyes beyond repair. She hasn't yet managed to fulfil her bizarre dreams.



All I can say is nope. Nope. Nope. I am not comfortable with this at all. I'm going to go for a walk in the fresh air.
