  Hot on the heels of the success of the Suicide Squad reboot it looks like the character of Peacemaker is getting his own show on HBO Max. I’ve not seen Suicide Squad yet, I still feel burned by the last instalment and I’m just not ready but this character looks a lot of fun. He seems a bumbling buffoon mentally but has deadly skills. In the show we see him removed from the squad but with a new bunch of rag tag of good guys who task him with killing other bad guys in order to keep himself out of prison.

  When it was initially announced, I wasn't really that interested in a Peacemaker TV show. But after watching The Suicide Squad and this trailer I'm now excited to see it. I didn't think Cena would go from wrestling to being a good comedic actor.

  I was already on board to check this out, based on how much I liked The Suicide Squad and the first trailer. And the Second trailer has only increased my desire to watch it. The casting of Robert Patrick as Peacemaker's dad is genius. Cena was really good in a recent comedy film called Vacation Friends too.

  The levels of humour and violence are reminiscent of Deadpool. I just hope it'll have a dramatic subplot that endears us as viewers towards Peacemaker. There was an interesting plot point in The Suicide Squad that they could play into. But I think they'll base it around his relationship with his dad, who is played by Robert Patrick (the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day). I do like the comedic dynamic between the team though.

  Now I have seen the Suicide squad sequel l I'm a bit surprise they have done a hole series around him as how it all ended up in the end with peace maker and had to go back to watch the end credit scene to understand what I missed. Thought there was lots of better characters stories they could have done maybe still will if this one turn out to be good. Would have like to see them to a Polka Dot Man one as he seem to have a interesting back story with his mother lol or a weasel one which would like to see more of. Also they have to do one with Shark King with Sylvester Stallone doing the voice again.
  
  I think your might I think will also be about his dad a bit as I know it going to be before the Suicide Squad as he does talk about him in the movie and I will also be set after it with that team of government people and not sure how he going to be going up against hopefully someone good which will bring the action. Comes out 13th Thursday January 2022. Looking forward to giving this a watch.

  The first three episodes are really really good. And the opening title scene will have you singing and dancing in your living room. Cena steals the show as the lead, and the supporting cast of Smith, Chase, Adebayo, Ecomomos, Hardcourt and Murn are just as hilarious. The action scenes are brutal. James Gunn's use of music in his project is always perfect. Every episode has a blooper scene at the end too. The subtle touch of how Peacemaker is a metaphor for America's right wing foreign policy of trying to bring "peace" to the world, no matter how many men, women or children they need to dispose of is spot on, and very similar to Team America World Police.

  Episode four was great and built further on the plots established in the first three episodes, and gave additional insights into the characters motivations, as well as ending with a great cliffhanger. The relationship between Peacemaker and his dad was brilliantly explored. Adebato's conflict about how far she needs to go in order to do her job was great. Vigalante going into prison to confront Auggie was a excellent action scene, with a perfect comedic setup that exposed how stupid racism is. Economos struggle to deal with Judomaster was funny. Murn's reveal will change the direction of the plot in an interesting way.

  Episode five was brilliant. The factory action scene was beautifully violent and funny. It perfectly concluded with Economos using a chainsaw to slice a gorilla in half. The bonding of the team on this road trip and how they used music to connect with each other was fantastic. The cliffhanger at the end will have interesting repercussions by the time we get to the season finale. And I'm sure HBOMax are probably already working on greenlighting a second season. The are already rumours that another character from The Suicide Squad will be getting their own TV show too, and allegedly it'll be Ratcather Two. Which I'm actually intrigued by, but I'd be more than happy if it was one with Idris Elba as Bloodsport instead.
