  Dunno if the word legend can be used for this guy (maybe with Newcastle fans) but i remember him when i was growing up watching football and id reckon he was a legend enough. Two things i remember him by mainly.. the haircut and his Premier League book sticker :P Of course he was in a quite decent Newcastle United squad too.
  Sad news anyway.

  I remember Pavel Srnicek!  Ex-Newcastle, West Ham, Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth keeper.
  
  Wasn't a bad keeper.  A legend in Newcastle for sure, and would be well known to many who remember Football from the early 90's onwards or even well before then, and sad news about his passing.  Just going about his daily routine, and suffering a cardiac arrest, failing to pull through.

  Shocking news. Had a mate when I was doing my a-levels in the mid-90s who was a huge Toon fan. Pavel Srnicek was his absolute hero.

  To be honest, I wouldn't call him a legend. He did seem a reasonable goal keeper and was popular with the Newcastle fans for sure. Very sad news indeed and quite shocking when you think of how he died. This has happened to several players over the years and each time it's shocking I think that guys so young and apparently fit can just collapse like this. Football does place a lot of stress on the cardiovascular system. It can be both aerobic and anaerobic. You'd also think these days with so many medial check, more potential problems would show up in advance.
