Office Christmas Party

Merry christmas everyone. No, i have not lost my mind. It must be christmas otherwise why else would i be watching a christmas film in..March lol. After the appauling 'Bad Santa 2' i was waiting for the other 2016 christmmas themed cinematic offering 'Office Christmas Party' to put in an appearance on home release. On clocking this the other day, gave it a looksee almost straight away and you know what, despite some negative critic reviews..this is actually a lot of fun. Starring (amongst others) Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Mcinnon, the film basically tells of following threats to shut down his office branch, the brother of an uptight ceo throcws the mother of all christmas office parties in an effort to land a big new client..and naturally it all goes pear shaped. To compare this to any other film in recent mmemory, i suppose 'Project X' (no, not the one with Matthew Broderick but the one about the out of control house party) is the most comparable. This, as comedes an christmas films go, is a fun ride with some genuinely funny moments but it never really feels as though it really, really gets out of control. Perhaps im asking to much or setting the out of control bar too high but it feels as though it purposely doesnt want to cross a multitude of lines. Thats what keeps this a being very enjoyable as opposed a bloody brilliant. Could do a heck of a lot worse (this said though, i wish my office christmas parties were even vaguey comparable to thiis as opposed to the repetative, predictable, safe snoozefests that they are year on year).
