  Well consider my panties well and truly pissed. Jordan Peele will be returning with Nope. This teaser gives nothing away other than some cast members and focuses more on making us remember Peele’s brilliant former two movies Get Out and Us.

  Nope is the film I'm most excited to see this year. Peele created one of my favourite films of all time with Get Out. Lupita's performance in Us was outstanding. So I'm really excited to see what Nope is about, and I'm going to try to avoid as much infomation about it as possible before I watch it in the cinema. The cast he's assembled for this is brilliant. Kaluyya is currently one of the best actors on the planet and he really deserved his Oscar for his performance in Judas and The Black Messiah. Palmer and Yeung are brilliant too.

  This is the first official trailer, and it looks brilliantly mysterious. Keke Palmer's energy leaps of the screen. Kaluuya looks like he'll be in a supporting role, and there isn't much revealed about Yeun's character. The choice of music is perfect as always with Peele's films. I love how the voiceover keeps saying Yeah, it stops, and then Palmer repeatedly says Nah. Based on the small glimpses in the trailer, and the way everyone keeps looking towards the sky, I think it might be about aliens. But I'm going to avoid all youtube theory videos and any further trailers until I watch the film. I'm sure they'll be an underlying allegorical theme within the plot, just like Peele's previous films.

  I wish I never watched this trailer, it reveals too many plot points from the second act. I loved the first trailer because it was so perfectly vague like Peele's previous films Get Out and Us. Palmer, Kaluuya and Yuen are perfectly cast in their roles, and it looks like the journey they'll take us on will be weird, smart and fun. And I'm sure Peele has another trick up his sleeve that we won't see coming until the third act, despite all the information that was revealed in this trailer.

  Following up one of the greatest films of all time in my opinion, Get Out was always going to be a slight issue, in the same way that every album Nas makes always gets compared to Illmatic. But with Us and now Nope, Jordan Peele has proved that he's an outstanding director and amongst the best of his generation. Is this film perfect? No. But I love how ambitious it is and the performances of all the actors. Kaluuya is the understated brother to Keke Palmer's more exuberant sibling. Yuen as the former child star turned amusement part owner has tons of showmanship. Brandon Perea's supporting role as the camera store employee is charismatic. Michael Wincott's role as the veteran cinematographer Antlers Holst gives a touch of grit to the film. Keith David as the patriarc of the Haywood family was genius casting. The tone of the film has touches of horror with dashes of suspense and thrills to compliment it's sci-fi foundations. There are echoes of Jaws in it and there is a great visual homage to Akira too.
