NO STURRIDGE IN LATEST ENGLAND SQUAD

Even if he plays for Liverpool at the weekend, Brendan Rodgers said, he won't be fit for England. And he isn't. Roy Hodgson has named his squad for the games against San Marino and Estonia with only Rooney, Lambert and Welbeck for recognised out-and-out forwards.
Possibly not as bad as it sounds with the likes of Lallana and Sterling there to play out wide or in-behind, but on the other hand we're only a couple of injuries or suspensions away from Andros Townsend. He returns to the fold despite not really doing anything of note for near on a year now.
Fabian Delph keeps his place after impressing against Switzerland and there's a recall for Jonjo Shelvey too.
With Luke Shaw in exile Kieran Gibbs takes the coveted back-up left-back berth and Nathaniel Clyne, winner of 8 U21 caps gets his first senior call up after an impressive start to the season. You'd imagine he'd see some action too with John Stones being the only other recognised right-back in the squad.
