Swansea v Man City 12:45
City for the win obviously (8/13) but it is away from home, and they did struggle to get past Palace last time out… Can see them making hard work of it. Swansea with a +1 handicap at 5/4 looks decent, as does under 2.5 goals at the same price. Negredo’s 10/11 to score anytime, and chances are he will.
Prediction: 1-2 (7/1)
Arsenal v Cardiff
No one’s betting against the home win (2/7) but I can’t see them walking it. The games are coming thick and fast at the moment, and Arsenal’s squad is getting stretched. I’m repeating myself here but have a look at Cardiff with a +1 handicap at 16/5 or +2 at 11/10. BTTS at 5/4 is tempting too.
Prediction: 3-1
Crystal Palace v Norwich
The sort of game both teams need to win if they want to stay up. Norwich nicked it by the odd goal when they met a few weeks ago but with home advantage I think Palace will return the favour here. They’re favourites, but only to the tune of 13/10. It’s not often I’m tempted by an outright but that does look good. Dwight Gayle and Marouane Chamakh are both 6/1 to open the scoring, take your pick.
Prediction: 1-0 (6/1)
Fulham v West Ham
This is even more of a six-pointer than the game at Selhurst. I just can’t see West Ham out-scoring anyone at the moment, even Fulham. That’s not to say I‘m backing the home side, especially not after that 6-0 defeat at Hull… Draw? 9/4 if you fancy it. Steering clear of the scorer markets, ta.
Prediction: 1-1 (6/1)
Liverpool v Hull
On the one hand, Liverpool tend to go to town on mid-table sides at home. On the other, they’re having a bit of a wobble and Hull beat them a few weeks back. I’ll stick with the home win (2/7) but with Suarez’s goals drying up ever since I put him in my fantasy team I don’t think it’ll be a rout. Saying that, 15/8 on him scoring 2 or more is probably worth a go. Have a look at under 2.5 match goals at 11/8 too.
Prediction: 2-0 (11/2)
Southampton v Chelsea
I remember when Saints beat Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool at home last season. The giant-killings are a bit scarcer this time around though and it’s difficult to see them picking up the 3 points here, even if 29/10 is generous. Jay Rodriguez scored after 13 seconds when the sides met earlier in the season and he generally loves an early goal. 15/2 on him getting the first one again seems plausible.
Prediction: 1-1 (11/2)
Stoke v Everton
Just when it was looking like Stoke might have found a bit of form, 8 conceded and 0 points from their last 2 games. In the same period Everton got over their Sunderland wobble with a decent win over Southampton. Evens for the away win is a beaut. Lukaku’s scoring again too! 11/10 anytime or 4/1 for the first here, both seem likely. Lastly, and I'm not saying it’ll happen, how about the Toffees to score 3+ at 18/5? Think on it…
Prediction: 0-2 (9/1)
Sunderland v Aston Villa
Sunderland’s form is a lot better than Villa’s right now. Still bottom of the table of course, but you’d imagine that’d make them ‘want it’ more wouldn’t you? Home advantage too, home win (11/10). Both sides are full of misfiring jokers so steer clear of the scorer markets and take a look at under 1.5 goals at 21/10 instead. BTTS? No (10/11).
Prediction: 1-0 (6/1)
West Brom v Newcastle
I really want to go all in and call a Geordie win, but I’ve just been burnt too many times. The best you’re getting is the Newcastle DNB at evens. Cabaye to score anytime at 11/4 looks decent and what about Anelka? Got a couple at the weekend and he’s 6/4. Just go careful with the celebrations yeah Nic… Either way, there could be goals. 3.5+ at 19/10, anyone?
Prediction: 2-2 (12/1)
Man Utd v Tottenham 17:30
United have won a few on the bounce now, Spurs still look to be in a bit of a mess (even if they did beat Stoke). Got to be the home win and 4/5 looks decent value. Probably best to leave the scorer markets alone until we know whether or not Rooney and van Persie are starting, though you could do worse than Welbeck at 5/4 anytime. Tempted by the United clean sheet at 31/20.
Prediction: 2-0 (17/2)
