What do you guys think? Anyone getting one? The screen must be good but the 4g thing is a waste here in the UK. IS it worth the extra money or should i get an old iPad 2 instead?

Might aswell save up for a couple month, then buy the iPad5. If you barter well enough, they could shove in the latest iPhone11 for a decent price too.

As always with Apple products there will be a fairly big stampede to get the new version but having looked at it there does not seem to be that much that would be essential over the iPad 2 so I would suggest let the new buyers dive in and wait a little for one of the cheap second hand ones that will spill on to the market. I still think these and a phone is a silly waste surely they could have been made to include a phone function then you pnly have to carry one thing round. The new Samsung Note seems to be the way to go and I am sure someone will do a large screen version that includes a phone . -

yes, cause there's nothing i'd like more than to hold a roughly A4 sheet of paper sized device up to my ear to make phone calls lol.
the whole point in there being two devices is that they are different sizes, the iphone is the right size to easily carry around in your pocket and does a lot of things you need when out and the ipad is almost a laptop replacement for some people with the advantage of the bigger screen making it easier to do certain things with it.
as for the samsung note, the thing is a joke, it has one of the worst touch screens i've ever used. -

got my ipad 2 recently and love it - one of the best inventions ever!!
