Remember that documentary about Fyre Festival? For those who don’t, here’s the brief rundown - it was festival that charged rich kids thousands to attend, promised headline acts, models and luxury tents - but instead delivered a partially-finished shitty campsite with not enough tents and food for the attendees. It was a proper shitshow. Anyhoo, to capitalise on the show popularity, a series is due to come out that appears to be a cross between Fyre Festival,
Battle Royale and
The Hunger Games.
The show is called
The I-Land and will be filled with many horrors much like the original Fyre Festival. I’m not quite sure if people are being hunted or if they’re just left on a scary island full of traps and dangerous animals for viewers entertainment. Either way, it’s right up my street. Here’s the trailer:
Here’s the actual synopsis for the seven part series:
Quote:When 10 people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they got there, they set off on a trek to try to get back home.
They soon discover this world is not as it seems. Faced with the I-Land’s extreme psychological and physical challenges, they must rise to their better selves – or die as their worst ones.
Yup, pretty much like
The Hunger Games, The Condemned, Battle Royale and all those kind of films. Let’s hope it delivers. It’s out on September 12th so not to wait.
