  I'll look out for meatloafs trousers next time (never thought I'd be saying that sentence on this forum.)
  Another film that I want to talk about isn't really insane as a whole but it had a scene that was just insane/fucked up/gruesome etc.
  127 hours. The scene where he actually cuts his arm off is so uncomfortable but so brilliant. I couldn't watch it, but had to watch it, and was cringing and shuffling about in my seat because it's so uncomfortable to watch. Damn good film too.

  The stangest film I have ever watched has been Erazorhead which was David Lynch,s first . I have watched this three time now and still have no idea at all what it is really about . It seems to have not plotline and very little in the way of anyhitng that would explain what is happening or why.

  haha lol, i was just about to say david lynch, makes the weirdest, most confusing fukked up films ever, i have not seen many of his films because i do not have the patience and i don't smoke weed, which i think is necessary if you wanna watch his films lol
  try mulholland drive - you will not understand any of it, in fact i don't think david lynch even understands it

  The most insane film that I have ever seen Has to be michael scissorhands. The film is just crazy as you have a weird man who wreaks havok in the neighrbour by cutting up everything and anyone whogets in his way. Definitely weird.

  You could take a look at Funny Games by the German director Michael Haneke, he did it in English in 2007 but it was originally shot in German in 1997. The English version is reported to be identical apart from the fact it's in English and not German, very fucked up stuff.

  i think the only film i would class as insane would be southland tales. it was a long time ago that i watched it, but i remember about half way through suddenly thinking "hang on, what's happening?" and pretty much thinking that untill the film ended.
  
  after reading the synopsis on imdb it sounds fairly straight forward plot wise, but trust me there's something about the way it's written, edited and all the strange unexplained bits that make it a seriously insane film.
  
  fight club i always thought was pretty easy to understand etc.. same goes for battle royale i guess it just depends on what you decide it means for a film to be insane, personally i think it needs to be a film that you just can't understand/makes no sense but i'd agree with pretty much anything from david lynch though

  true, fight club is a great film. that's why i said it depends what you class as insane really.
  
  as for southland tales i honestly couldn't tell you if it was actually any good or not as that's how little i could follow what was happening lol, that being said i did only watch it once and that was a few years ago and although i'm sure i did pay attention to it i might try and force myself to rewatch it at some point and see if i can make any more sense of it now.

  Well i class insane films as, even if they are understandable story wise are more than a bit crazy in what happens (ala Hobo with a Shotgun) or insane as you can`t understand what the hell is happening (ala anything by David Lynch, although i did enjoy Twin Peaks even if it was totally bat shit mental).
  
  Southland Tales i don`t count as insane, just sloppily directed and choppily written, in a synopsis i understand, watching it, it made no sense too scattershot and disjointed, and badly done (i`d never sit through that again personally)
