Midnight Sun

Traditionally i don't tend to steer towards fluff films..you know, romcoms, tearjerkers..those of the luvie duvie ilk. Imagine my suprise when given the slew of shite ive watched of late (far too much shite..summertime's weird like that), that 2 of the films i have enjoyed the most of late are both romantic fluff pieces (must be going soft in my old age lol). This review concerns ' Midnight Sun'. A romantic drama / tearjerker starring Bella Thorne and Rob Riggle (may not recognise his nam,e but guarantee you will recognise his face, who manages to deliver the best performance i can recall seeing from him). The film tells of Bella's character, a girl who from a young age developed a condition that means even a glimmer of sunlight making contact with her skin could potentially make her really ill and potentially prove fatal. Home schooled by her dad, froman early age she develops a crush on a neighbourhood boy of the same age who doesnt know she exists as she never ventures out during the day..until that inevitanble point they meet. Watched with the fam..thought this was a very solid film, great performances which while sentimental never mmanaged to be boring. Of course the fam were in tears from relativly early on (i mmanaged..too..fight back..the..sob..tears lol). Should imagine the ladies will eat this up but guys, this is far than a chore to watch..actually pretty darn good.
