I have a few red flags when it comes to women, not liking Beyonce is one, and not liking Mean Girls is another. I don't understand how Maxie doesn't like the original but at least she is a fan of the fashion from the film. What probably caught out Brooksie and Maxie before they watched this trailer is that they might not have been aware that there was a Broadway musical released after the original film was adapted from a book. So this is technically an adaptation of the musical rather than a remake of the film. I agree with them both that the trailer does a poor job of showing people that it is a musical. I thought Maxie might've recognised that the actress played the lead role of Cady is Angourie Rice from The Nice Guys and Black Mirror. I do share both of their sentiments in regards to musicals being my least favourite genre of film.
