RE: Marvel's Doctor Strange

Right, am gonna have to go against the grain on this one. Managed to get hold of and watch 'Dr Strange' the other night. This and Star Wars were the two on my immediate hit list so naturally i jumped at the chance to watch it as soon as i saw it available..and have got to say i was a little dissapointed. Yep, Cumberbach does look the part and yep, the inception esque visuals are certainly inventive in a good way..but thats pretty much where the praise ends. Ionically this is one superhero / Marvel film that woud have benifited from being longer in running time. After a well paced intro and set up then, before we know it, he i s trained and then the whole thing is over shortly after. It all felt so rushed after the first third, especially Strange's training..not nearly enough time was spent on that. Old Mad's as the films Villian, along wiith his cronies, was yet another wasted villian opportunity..one of many, many during 2016. Will try not too spoiil anything but towards the end of the film the visuals take another turn which, rather than being effective, turn into some ravers nightmare..not lever or inventive. Chuck in some particually poor attempts at humour and whats left but a watchable popcorn flick but one not likely to see the light of day as far as a repeat watch goes.
