The manager/head coach of Spanish Club Sporting Gijon resigned his role after not winning in 7 of the clubs last 8 games

Now correct me if i'm wrong, but he resigned, so why are the club offering compensation?, damn right that he turned it down, fair enough if they sacked him, but compensation for resigning, no chance

That is fucked up wish when I resigned from the bank nearly 27 years ago they had offered me compensation! Maybe he wants to pay Tony Pulis' money to Crystal Palarse or maybe his love for the club means he dipped into his own pocket to help them out. But even so it just shows how mad football is now!

It does seem odd. Something been lost in translation maybe? I'm guessing that he probably would have been sacked anyway, but resigned instead so the club didn't have to pay out.

Plenty would cling on for the money, so fair play to him.
