Im surprised how teams like barca/real/bayern etc play really well in europe considering their domestic leagues are far less challenging than the premiership.

i wouldn't be so quick to say they are FAR less challenging. the reason they play well in europe is because they are great teams, and obviously on average no worse than any premiership team. in 2009 and 2011 barca beat man u with the same ease they beat "lesser" teams in the spanish league...
