In: Fernandinho (Shakhtar Donetsk, £30m), Stevan Jovetic (Fiorentina, £22m), Jésus Navas (Seville, £17m rising to £22.9m), Alvaro Negredo (Seville, £16.4m rising to £20.6m).
Out: Carlos Tévez (Juventus, £10m rising to £12m), Jeremy Helan (Sheffield Wednesday, Undisclosed), Maicon (Roma, Undisclosed), Wayne Bridge (Reading, Free), Ryan McGivern (Hibs, Free), Roque Santa Cruz (Malaga, Free), Kolo Touré (Liverpool, Free), Karim Rekik (PSV Eindhoven, Loan), Reece Wabara (Doncaster, Loan).
Prediction: 2nd
City got their business done early this summer and as a result managed to sidestep all the sagas and frustration currently being experienced by their neighbours. It was decent business too. Jovetic and Negredo should be adequate replacements for Tevez and Balotelli, and in Jesus Navas they’ve signed one of the most explosive wingers in Europe. Fernandinho can’t be bad either if they paid £30m for him.
With Mancini gone as well, they’re looking in much better shape now than they were at the end of last season. Manuel Pellegrini has good European pedigree and you’d expect them to make a better go of the Champions League this year. There’s enough depth for a title challenge too, just not enough to get past Chelsea in my opinion. -

they have done what man utd did last year, get their signings done quickly and try to settle team fast. im not sure about jovetic, i think he is slightly overated. negredo will score goals and i cant believe they got navas that cheap he is quality. -

i'm guessing that your not a man city fan or a lover of joe hart. his tv ads and acting in them are nearly as bad as the form he's been in for about a year or so. -

Can't catch a break, can they?
After signing Martin Demichelis as cover for all their injured centre halves, the man himself has picked up a knee injury and will be out for the next 6 weeks.
Just Lescott and Nastasic left now. -

i dont think that demichelis is that special anyway. i thought nastasic was injured as well. they are struggling at the back and need kompany badly for the big games. -

He was but he came back for the Hull match. Kompany's still 3 weeks away from returning apparently, massive player for them. -

yeah he is huge for them, they are very short at the back and lack the quality they have in other areas. their title calenge depends on how they defend this season cuz they'll score goals.
