  Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has been told by owner Vincent Tan to resign or he will be sacked.
  
  In a letter emailed to Mackay on Monday, it is understood Tan listed in depth his grievances with the Scot.
  
  Tan criticised 41-year-old Mackay at length in a range of areas, such as signings, transfer budgets, results on the pitch and style of play.
  
  Seriously WTF?!

  Absolutely mental. He got them to the League Cup final and play-off semis in his first year, won the Championship last year and as it stands he looks more than likely to keep them up this. How is that anything to be criticised??
  
  He's refusing to resign though, and good for him. Take the pay-off Malky, and then walk straight in to the West Brom job. I'd be massively surprised if thats not how it pans out.
  
  Still, got to feel for the Cardiff fans. I wouldn't say Tan's quite at the level of Venkys at Blackburn (he did take them up, rather than down) but he's not far off, and has made the club a laughing stock.
  
  Just checked the odds and you can still have 100/30 on them being relegated. Get in quick!

  Sometimes you have to despair, Malky got them into the PL, something that Dave Jones struggled with for yonks and never could (and look where he is now!!!), and for that reason alone worthy of a year to get them settled into the PL. As I've said before Tan wants to market Cardiff big time across Asia, I'm not sure what he thought would happen this year, top 4 perhaps They were always destined to be bottom half and avoiding relegation is really what they have to aim for to ensure another year in the lucrative PL.
  
  Maybe it's the occasional shock wins they've had over the big clubs that is clouding Tan further, although we have already seen he has an agenda but I used to give him more credit than this, silly silly man....
  
  Does AVB fancy a spell here, I doubt that would go down very well... If Tan wants Malky gone then he has to have someone in mind and I don't mean that upstart that made the headlines a while back, or if it does turn out to be him, then I shall spend another afternoon furiously shaking my head and groaning why why why!!!!

  Fucking 'marketing'. These owners need to realise that the reason Man Utd and Liverpool sell so many shirts all over the world is because of on-the-pitch success. The colour of them's got naff all to do with it.

  I doubt very much whether he's that desperate.
  
  The latest is that Mackay could be gone within the next few hours. And they've got a replacement lined up who's 'understood to be a household name currently in work at another British club'.
  
  Neil Lennon? He's currently 3rd favourite at 12/1.

  Cardiff owner Vincent Tan will decide in the coming hours whether to sack boss Malky Mackay before or after Saturday's league match at Liverpool.
  
  Neil Lennon won't go there, as much as i'd like him to disappear from Scotland, he actually may see it as a step down

  Don'tcha just love all this guessing game? When you come out with a 'Walk or you're Fired' statement then you may as well get it done asap and get on with inserting the new 'next manager to leave' contender!!!
  
  Perhaps Malky will be happy enough to go, cos if Liverpool put 5 on Spurs, how about double figures in this game!!!
  
  Yeah marketing is where the cash rolls in, but market what? We're in the PL woo-hoo... Mind they are crazy about footie in Malaysia, not the Malays obviously, they're Muslim and not supposed to bet (or drink) but a good few do... It's the Chinese and Indian contingent of the population that are mad for it, and spend like crazy...

  Naaaa, did "Arry" not say that QPR was gonna be his last job in management?, or have I just completely made that up?, it won't be AVB, maybe Steve Clarke will be the new manager

  Cardiff owner Vincent Tan instructed chairman Mehmet Dalman to meet him in London on Friday night for talks to decide the future of manager Malky Mackay.
  
  Tan flew to the United Kingdom having told Mackay, 41, to resign or face being dismissed.
  
  Dalman convinced the Malaysian businessman to hold one final round of negotiations.
  
  “All I'm here to do is talk about the Liverpool game”
  
  Mackay is now expected to take charge of the team at Liverpool on Saturday.
  
  Earlier in the day, Tan gave Dalman the go-ahead to set about appointing a successor to Mackay and was deciding whether to sack the Scot before or after the weekend's game.
  
  Dalman has a preferred candidate to replace Mackay should he be dismissed - the manager is a high-profile name currently in work outside the UK.
  
  It is understood he would be keen to join Cardiff, but only if given concrete and binding assurances on issues such as Tan's involvement and the job description.
  
  Tan did speak to former Bluebirds boss Dave Jones about a return to the club in some capacity, but he does not intend to follow through with that idea. Jones was replaced by Mackay in June 2011.
  
  The owner sent Mackay a letter by email on Monday listing at length his grievances with the 41-year-old and giving him the ultimatum to resign or face being sacked.
  
  Their relationship is understood to be beyond repair, but Mackay has stated he will not resign.
