Idris Elba is back as Luther, but this time it's on the big screen and Netflix. He's up against Andy Serkis and he's going rogue after breaking out of prison. So, he also needs to be mindful of being caught by the police at the same time as he's trying to catch his adversary.

DCI John Luther has become one of the most iconic TV detectives not only because of Elba's performances. But also due to how unhinged his adversaries are, and Serkis provides that by the bucket load in this feature length story. Apart from some expansive establishing shots and location of the third act, there isn't much that elevates this Netflix financed event, higher than the regular BBC episodes. The writing and acting remain just as good as they've always been.
