  Pre-season vs Preston North End (A): 1-3
  The first game after recent tragic events was never going to be easy but our fans, players, management were outstanding. Credit to everyone associated with PNE too, they were amazing. Results never matter in pre-season and especially even more so now. It was beautiful to see Diogo being honoured by the celebrations of Darwin and Cody. It was nice to see Mamardashvili, Kerkez and Frimpong make their debuts but the stand out performance was probably by young Ngumoha.

  Pre-season vs Stoke (H): 5-0
  It was a behind closed doors game played at the AXA prior to our East Asian tour in Hong Kong and Japan. Nunez bagged himself a hat-trick, Ngumoha his first goal playing with our senior players and Chiesa rounded out the scoreline. This was the first time Wirtz has played and he looked good based on the highlights but the star of the show might've been another one of our young academy stars Nyoni.

  LOOOOOL the Coutinho money is never ending. I wish I had access to the account, so I could spend it on here on Tanya. Probably in our next game in Japan, but he might only do forty-five minutes.

  Pre-season vs Milan (N): 2-4
  The result doesn't really matter. The most important thing was to increase our fitness and avoid any injuries, which we did. Given the we played a mixture of first team, second team, new signings and youth players we did OK. Rio and Wirtz looked bright in the first half. Jeremie and Cody looked sharp in the second. I doubt we'll look so suseptable to counter attacks once the season starts. Also with Joe picking up a minor knock prior to the game, it looks like we might step up our interest in a CB like Guehi once we return to England and before the window closes.

  Pre-season vs Yokohama (A): 1-3
  The pitch wasn't the greatest, so it was nice to end the game with us not picking up any injuries. These pre-season games in Hong Kong and Japan have been really good tests for us, especially in terms of dealing with counter-attacks. Seeing Endo come on and get given the armband in front of his hometown crowd was a highlight. Ekitike made his debut and he looks sharp. Wirtz getting a goal will help him settle so much. Trey latching onto Jeremie's cross will do them both the world of good. And the star of our pre-season Rio, got another goal, which only further shows that we've got a potential superstar in the making.
