  Cant beleive liverpools defence is worse this season than last and that coupled with the loss of saurez goals equals mid table in my opinion

  I don't know why people are surprised Liverpool are struggling so bad Suarez was worth so many goals, but also teams had to set up much more defensively against them with him in team and they still conceded loads.

  I'd imagine it's because they spent £100m+ in the summer. And the summer before that. And the summer before that...

  Yeah, but what have they bought with that money? They could go buy a player from Sunday league for 100m doesn't mean he's any good or worth it. They signed a lot of average players and will end up in an average position in the table.

  Yes but when a club spends that amount of money expectations will always be high because of that. The fact of the matter is Liverpool (based on the amount they've spent over the last few years) should be doing a lot better than they are. They've spent incredibly poorly and questions have to be asked.
  
  Money spent + finishing second last year = high expectations
