  Onto the knockout stage. After the disappointment of drawing with Brighton in the Premier League, it was brilliant that we could bounce back with a win versus Atletico tonight in the Champions League. Many said this was the group of death, so to win all four games and qualify with two games to go is brilliant. Alisson was solid. Trent got two assists. Matip was calm. Virgil was cool. Tsimikas was energetic. Fabinho was faultless. Hendo was a leader. Ox was smart. Salah was a menace. Firmino was smooth. Mane was a constant threat. Jota was ruthless. Thiago was wise. Origi made smart runs. Minamino was unlucky not to score. The only downside were the injuries to Ox and Bobby. Hopefully we can nick a win versus West Ham on the weekend, and then get some rest for our injured players during the international break after.

  Shambolic. Our inability to keep clean sheets was bound to catch up with us eventually. Credit to West Ham they deserved the victory.  Alisson was surprisingly lax in goal and would've normally dealt with West Ham's three goals today. Trent was OK. Matip was decent. Virgil was OK. Robbo's form has dipped. Fabinho was decent. Hendo and Ox needed to protect our defence better and keep control of the ball more. Mane, Salah and Jota were OK. Origi took his goal well. After this international break were going to need to go on a long winning run in the league, until the Champions League knockout round starts in February, if we're going to win the title.

  Fight. Klopp would've battered Arteta, if the Arsenal manager didn't get his backroom staff to hold him back LOL. After the disappointments of not beating Brighton and West Ham, this was the perfect result to get our confidence back. Arsenal were half decent in the first half, but we still forced Ramsdale into a few big saves prior to taking the lead. Alisson pulled a off a couple decent saves in the second half when we were already two nil up. Trent bagged a couple assists and kept Smith-Rowe quiet. Matip won the freekick with on of his trademark dribbles into the attacking half, which lead to us taking the lead. Virgil pulled off a great tackle to stop Aubameyang. Tsimikas has been a superstar so far this season. Fabinho pulled off a great tackle to stop a counter-attack. Thiago dictated the tempo of our play, with and without the ball. Ox covered every blade of grass. Mane was a constant threat and bagged a goal and an assist. Jota took his goal beautifully, by dribbling past White and Ramsdale. Salah was amazing and gave their defence nightmares. Minamino took his goal perfectly. It was good to see Morton make his debut, and see Hendo return from injury.

  Ping. That strike by Thiago was almost as sweet as Tanya Renai. It was nice not having to worry about the result for once, due to us already having qualified for the knockout stage. Alisson had barely anything to do, but it was nice to see him given the armband. Neco is slowly developing into a solid back up for Trent. Matip provided that mature experience. Konate has so much youthful exuberance. Tsimikas is becoming just as reliable as Robertson. Morton was my man of the match, he was excellent on his Champions League debut. Tyler played with so much maturity for someone so young. Ox was his usual energetic self. Thiago is like the conductor of an orchestra. He uses a football like a renaissance painter uses a brush. Minamino was very good and unlucky not to score. Mane was unfortunate that his goal was ruled out for offside. Salah continues to prove why he's currently the best player in the world. Henderson, Milner, Origi and Fabinho all did well as subs. It'll be cool if we can get maximum group stage points by winning our final game versus AC Milan in the San Siro.

  Four. That was nowhere near as easy as the scoreline suggests. Southampton did have a few half chances and forced Alisson, Konate, VVD and Fabinho into a few crucial saves, blocks and tackles. Thankfully Jota, Thiago and VVD took their chances. Alisson pulled off a couple big saves. TAA continues to prove why he's amongst the best right backs in the world. Konate has the potential to become one of the best centrebacks in the world. Virgil is so cool and calm. Robertson put in one of his best performances in a while. Fabinho was everywhere we needed him to be. Thiago is just amazing. Henderson was great. Jota was an absolute bargain of a signing. Mane was a constant threat. Salah is just brilliant.

  Merry Christmas Everton. Alisson had barely anything to do, but will be disappointed to have not kept a clean sheet. Trent was his usual excellent self. Matip was solid, but had a couple issues dealing with Rondon's physical approach. VVD was cool, calm and collected as normal. Robbo had been brilliant since coming back into the team. Fabinho proved once again why he's amongst the best defensive midfielders in the world. Thiago really got stuck into the physical side of the game. Hendo scored an amazing goal. Mane had another solid game. Jota's scored an absolute peach of a goal. I loved his first touch and his finish was sublime. Mo was out of this world and his goals were works of art, especially the first one.

  Mentality Monsters. Saturday night and I like the way you move... DIVOCK ORIGI!!!!! With Chelsea losing to West Ham it was essential that we won today, if we want to win the league, and what a win it was. Hopefully Watford can stop Man City from winning their match too. Alisson had barely anything to do. Trent tired his best. I loved Matip's dribbles into midfield. VVD was solid. Robbo was OK. Thiago was brilliant. Fabinho was great. Hendo was OK. Mane is OK. Jota should've buried his chance. Mo got an assist. Origi was great as soon as he came on.

  Six wins out of six. For the first time in Champions League history an English team has won all six of their group stage games. It was nice to watch a Champions League game and being able to relax regardless of the result. Alisson was unlucky to concede a goal and he pulled off a great one on one save too. Williams is continuing to prove to be a solid back up to Trent. Phillps pulling off a Cruyff turn in his own box and sending to AC Milan players to other way is my highlight of our season so far. Konate dealt with Ibrahimovic superbly. Tsimikas was great. Morton played like a veteran, rather than a kid making only his third ever start in professional football. Ox did brilliant in the build up to Salah's goal. Minamino put in a solid performance in playing in an unfamiliar position. Mane help up the ball so well and brought his team mates into play superbly. Salah took his chance so ruthlessly. It was good to see Gomez and Naby return from injury. And it was fantastic to see Woltman and Bradley make their Champions League debuts. It'll be interesting to see which non-English and Atletico Madrid team that we get drawn against in the last 16 stage on Monday.

  Gerrard's return. I was so weird seeing Stevie, not only as a manager, but also as one for the opposition. The game wasn't great to watch, it was very stop start due to the referee. Anyway all that matters is that we got the three points. Alisson was OK. Trent was fine. Matip did his usual dribbles into midfield. Virgil was solid. Robbo was fine. Fabinho was solid. Thiago was fine. Hendo was OK. Mane was OK. Ox tried his best as a false nine. Salah buried his penalty. It wasn't a game to remember at all, and we could grabbed a couple more goals on the break. But at the end of the day, the result is more important than the performance.
