  I have travelled to Merseyside twice for away football matches. Both were many years ago and not to be forgotten easily.
  
  The first was at Anfield and I was stuck in the away end when Liverpool fans started to fire glares into us after we scored. One landed on a guy not far from me and i can still hear his screaming. However, when I watched Match of the Day that evening, BBC commentators never even mentioned it as happening, let alone showed the footage. They even had the nerve to call the Liverpool fans the ' best fans in the world'!!

  The second time I went to Merseyside to watch a football match it was to Goodison Park, in a match against Everton. The match passed without incident and I was walking with my mates away from the ground amongst hundreds of supporters.
  
  Suddenly, I heard a noise behind me and when I turned I saw an Everton fan on the ground scuffling with a policeman. Other police came to his aid and he was handcuffed and led away. One of the policemen turned to me and told me that i ha just had a lucky escape as the guy arrested was about to bury a knife in my back! If I wasn't scared before, I was now.
  
  Needless to say, I have not been back to Merseyside since to watch football. Also shows that it isn't just Liverpool fans who are scum, Everton are no better. By a bitter irony, I was relocated to Liverpool with my work many years later but no further incidents occurred.
  
  The scenes on Wednesday night shocked and surprised many but I was just pleased that finally Liverpool fans showed their true colours in front of the entire world.

  Fucking good job for that policeman.Ive been up there a few times to both and found the police are just as bad as the scum on the terraces.The best fans in the world ha the best bigmouths.Europe never missed them one little bit when they weren't in the draw

  He said that in his interview post-match too. He kept saying how a 'few' supporters overstepped the mark. It seems he missed out the critical word 'hundred' from that statement.

  So who do you guys think will go through tomorrow night? I think we might have the cushion of a three goal advantage but its still city and granted the game might have been different if Mane had stayed on but they have already beaten us badly at the ethitad.

  If you get an away goal (which I think you will) then they need to score 5.  
  
  It'll be an uncomfortable night, and City will have a real go, but you've done enough to get through surely?

  I wonder if Liverpool will be worried about their bus being vandalised on the way to the ground? Hope nothing happens and football is the winner (and City dry hump them 5 nil)...

  After all the build up it will end up being a 0-0. But I hope not, as Liverpool can afford to give away a few goals they should go full attack mode to get their one goal they need, I think the first half will be frenetic. What a great word. Can we really believe City will lose 3 games in a row though?

  Until Liverpool beat them at Anfield, it looked as though City were going to be this season's invincibles. If anyone had said that they would also lose a home game this season, when leading 2-0, they would have been laughed at and certified insane. Just goes to show that football is a funny game and surprises are often just around the corner.
