  Spoke too soon, re: Copa- not that he had anything to do with Brazil's downfall. I think he might work out well. He didn't score much in the bundesliga, but he got a fair few assists. Also, let's not forget he was playing for a mid-table team (queue Liverpool jokes) and theoretically should improve around better players. From what I've seen he has good vision and plays well with coutinho.

  I honestly think that the last game of last season Rodgers threw it, potentially to maybe avoid the Europa League or something.
  I mean what kinda proper manager actually goes and plays a ton of players out of position and expects them to play decently.. or even just ok...
  Na i think he knew what he was doing :P But clearly it failed.. well to an extent anyway :P

  I think Firminho will prove to be a brilliant signing, got a good amount of assists in the Bundesliga and looks very composed with the ball at his feet. A partnership with Coutinho could be the foundation of another tilt at the title next season

  Only saw him play for Brazil in the Copa America.  Looked ok.  Hope he does well.
  
  I say this with caution, as I really don't know an awful lot about him.  Remember we signed Diouf and Diao after a good 2002 World Cup, and look how they turned out?!
  
  The signing that I fear, is Benteke.  1 in 4 good games.  Seems a bit lazy/can't be arsed to me, most of the time.  Just like Balotelli!  A Villa fan I spoke to would be made up if we took Benteke off them, and they got a nice price for him.

  32million for Benteke is a bit crazy I think too, I just keep getting visions of Andy Carroll, will Benteke be back at villa at Christmas. Firmino, I hope he's good actually, and thats coming from a united fan. Love when there's excitement around a new player, especially brazilian, mind juninho at middlesboro haha. But Kagawa came to united with a great assist record too...too many players didn't get him a run in the team. Think that might happen here too

  I wouldnt be surprised if Liverpool just bought Benteke so they could freeze any other teams out from buying him. Liverpool seem very greedy at the moment with all these players theyre getting.. I dont think they needed a whole new team :P
  But ye, dont be surprised if LFC buy Benteke sometime soon. And he has apparently told the club he wants to leave.. forget the fact he has a contract.. he wants to leave and thats the last word on the matter. Pfff :(

  Well Raheem Sterling apparently reported for training this morning. I wonder if he is gonna be able to understand what the new captain, Jordan Henderson, is gonna say to him regarding signing a new contract :D
  I dont see how Sterling can even show his face after the shit him and his agent have pulled..

  I hope they don't bid, I hope he ends up sitting in the reserves for the season. I hate when players act like spoilt children. He came up through liverpool and they gave him all the opportunities, you'd think he'd show a bit of gratitude, play and try until an offer comes in. Don't think its rocket science.
