Leicester have sacked manager Claudio Ranieri, less than a year after the Italian led to the Premier League title.
Despite a late goal from Jamie Vardy on Wednesday night that ensured they head into the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Sevilla with a 2-1 deficit, it is understood that the 65-year-old was informed of the decision on his return from Spain.
“This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in nearly seven years since King Power took ownership of Leicester City,” said a statement from vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha. “But we are duty-bound to put the club’s long-term interests above all sense of personal sentiment, no matter how strong that might be.

Mark my words this will happen to the next Arsenal Manager after just 8 months in charge after not delivering any silverware and everyone will be laughing,including me :s .How can anyone get treated so badly after giving the directors millions in revenue for winning the title and getting in the Champions league and putting smiles on all Foxes faces.BRING BACK THE DAYS OF BILL SHANKLY,BRIAN CLOUGH,LAWRIE MCMENEMY,HOWARD KENDALL,MALCOLM ALLISON,ETC ETC, when the managers managed not just played as puppets :( The players at Leicester should hold their heads down in shame

Presumably, the directors figured that they would rather stay in the Premier League than win any other trophies. And Ranieri, just isn't up to the task.
No loyalty in football, just business.
The players are the ones who should be sacked. Bunch of pansys! :P

Massive shame to see it end like this for him, but the right decision I think.

The entire group looks shot after last season, and for whatever reason he clearly wasn't capable of turning it around. The players obviously need to take a good look at themselves too, and there'll no doubt be big changes in the summer, but all you can do in February is change the manager and hope for a bit of an uplift.

He would have taken them down, and with the amount of money they've spent (not to mention the wage bill) that really isn't an option.

Its just like in technology with all these companies scrabbling to make the next iPhone 8 or 26 when they all do practically the same thing,managers are just like that if they don't work wonders they are thrown away on the scrap heap to be replaced by the next phone (mug) and so on and so on,when the old phone (mug)just needed a little screw tightened but directors don't see that they go for the next model when that is just as fucking bad as what they had in the 1st place,stick with what you got I say the new model might just have even more screws lose.
