Here's how it looked after 7 games.
And here's how it looks now...
Man City
Start of season - 9/4
After 7 games - 2/1
Now - 8/5
Still just about favourites and they’re actually shorter than they were at the start of the season, that’s probably got more to do with Chelsea and United’s wobbles than their own form, mind. If Arsenal get anything when the two sides meet at the Etihad this weekend, that might well nudge them ahead, but for now, and especially if City can maintain their recent improvements on the road, 8/5 looks decent.
Arsenal
Start - 11/1
After 7 - 9/2
Now - 2/1
The odds have only been going in one direction but Man City and Chelsea are their next two opponents. Disappointing results in either of those games wouldn’t necessarily kill off their title chances, but would probably mean a lengthening of the odds. So if you fancy backing them it might be worth waiting. 2/1 seems optimistic anyway.
Chelsea
Start 9/4
After 7 - 23/10
Now - 4/1
They don’t look much like champions at the moment but I’d sooner back them at 4/1 than Arsenal at 2. Buy low people, this could look like a steal in a couple of months time!
Liverpool
Start - 28/1
After 7 - 7/1
Now - 9/1
Lengthened since the 7 game mark, but they’re still 2nd in the table, Suarez is on fire and they’ve scored 9 in their last 2 games. Not overly likely to win it of course, but 9/1 is still generous.
Man Utd
Start - 5/2
After 7 - 11/2
Now - 33/1
From 11/2 to 33/1 in the space of 8 games, impressive. You can even get 6/4 on them finishing top 4 at the moment. Their next 4 league games look winnable though, even more so than Everton and Newcastle at home, so now might be a good time to get in on the action. Handicap of course, they’ve fuck all chance of winning it.
Tottenham
Start 25/1
After 7 - 14/1
Now - 66/1
Spurs’ odds have had a bit of a collapse as well. They’ve won their last 2 though, and there’s always the hope that AVB will get the new signings firing at some point. If you fancy them to come good, get in on the top 4 finish at 9/4 now.
Everton
Start - 250/1
After 7 - 150/1
Now - 80/1
You might have expected them to tail off by now, but their remarkable run shows no sign of coming to an end. 4/1 on a top 4 finish for the Toffees could be the best bet of the bunch.
