  Aston Villa gave Lambert the boot last night after a horrible run of form in which they gained just 12 points from 21 matches.  Only 8 goals scored in that period too.
  
  And with Alan Irvine relieved of his West Brom duties in December, there's now not a single Scot managing in the top flight.
  
  Pretty shocking really, because as this list shows, there's usually loads...

  I am not sure if this is a result of the decline of the Scottish game and lack of competition even in the days when there was an SPL old firm rivalry. Strachan has done a great job so far with the Scottish national team and could still do a good job in the Premier League. As far Lambert, no great surprise that he's gone, Villa have been woeful for the last few seasons under him, dull to watch, no invention and negative tactics.

  It's a worrying state of affairs in the Premier League at the moment. The older British managers are unfashionable, despite being quite brilliant, and the younger ones are going to be crowded out by the lack of trust placed in them by chairmen of top clubs,

  Wow, not that long ago Scotland was dominating the Prem.
  
  Oh well, I can now easily declare that Brendan Rodgers is the best British manager in the league right now :D
