Its a real shame and a great loss. Have gotta admit i have not being actively following the story. I know it was was the result of a plane crash but beyond that? A masterful film composer behind several of cinemas most iconic films. Aparently he was next gonna be working on the Avatar sequels. RIP James Horner.

I think its a case that other composers are more 'well known'..
Shame really because he did indeed do some good stuff for some great films.

As sad as it is that he died (very), I hope someone completely different takes over his mantle. Film composing (for the big blockbusters, at least) has, in my opinion, got a little stagnant recently (Inception syndrome) and it'd be interesting to see things taken in a different direction.
